Countdown NYE is another strong example of how an event can become its own brand.
For 2026, Countdown returns to the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino for a two-day New Year’s Eve festival, December 31–January 1. It has an alien/space theme, five covered stages, 75+ artists, carnival rides, the Galaxy Mall, interactive attractions, and on-site afterparties from 2–6 AM.
What Countdown adds to the examples you’ve been showing me
The important part isn’t just the DJs.
They create a world around the event:
- Theme: alien/space
- Multiple stages: different music environments
- Entertainment: carnival rides and attractions
- Shopping: Galaxy Mall
- VIP: dedicated viewing areas, food/drinks and activities
- Interactive experiences: photo ops, beauty/barber experiences, kandi-making
- Afterparty: keeps the experience going until 6 AM
- Ticket tiers: GA, GA+, VIP and afterparty options
And the current two-day passes are structured at different levels: GA, GA+, and VIP, with VIP adding things such as dedicated areas, food/drink options and special activities.
